Welcome to The McGhee Foundation

The McGhee Foundation was established in 2002 as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization by Ambassador George C. McGhee. Ambassador McGhee served as the President of the Board of Directors until his death in 2005. As a student of the world, the Ambassador sought to promote a love of learning and to inspire curiosity, and The McGhee Foundation shares his vision.

The mission of The McGhee Foundation is to continue the educational and humanitarian legacy of U. S. Ambassador George C. McGhee (1912-2005) by supporting projects and programs that provide inspirational learning opportunities and enrich the lives of residents in the Virginia Piedmont area.
